BARREL STYLE METAL TILE
24 GAUGE STEEL
OUR BARREL TILE PANEL IS THE INDUSTRY’S
TRUEST SIMULATION OF CLASSIC CLAY TILE.
1. ADVANCED ROOFING TECHNOLOGY
Ø Pre-formed 24 Gauge (G90) Galvanized Steel, or .032″ Aluminum
Ø Our standard tile step is 14-inches; although our state of the art roll- former can be programmed to manufacturer panels in any tile step length from 9-inches to 16-inches. This allows for an equal length tile step on almost any mansard application.
Ø Our panel is manufactured with a 40-inch coverage width that allows installation of large areas with minimal material handling.
Ø Our panel can be manufactured in lengths as long as 40 foot. The reduction of end-laps reduces the need for additional screws that would be required in a “corner pattern”.
Ø Unlike other metal tile panels; our panel is manufactured straight and square. There is no need to install the first panel out of square. Just drop the panel 2-inches below the drip edge, push the panel up the roof slightly until the first tile step hits the drip edge and the panel is positioned perfectly with a 1-1/4-inch overhang .
Ø Our panel was specially designed with a visible horizontal indent line at the right side of the high rib. This patented design virtually eliminates the visual side-lap because the indent gives the illusion of individual tiles both horizontally and vertically.
Ø A 4-inch wide flat “low rib” was incorporated into the panel to provide a safe traffic area for installing and maintaining the panel.
Ø Corrosion resistance is maximized with the superb combination of a 2 coat Kynar 500Ò Paint Finish with a 40-year warranty.
Ø Excellent formability, color retention, resistance to salt spray and chalking.
2. EASE OF INSTALLATION
Ø Panel coverage width is 40 inches and custom cut to length. Panels are easier to handle and material-handling labor is greatly reduced on the jobsite.
Ø Panel is manufactured square to the eave line, no need to install the first panel out of square to ensure to hassle free installation. The panel is designed to be positioned 4-inches past the drip edge; then simply push the panel up the roof until the first tile step lip hits the eave edge and fasten. There will always be a consistent 1-1/4-inch overhang, which will keep your fascia clean from roof run-off.
Ø Cost effective on virtually all structures, commercial, residential – new construction and remodeled.
Ø Cracking and breakage is totally eliminated, a costly factor where traditional clay and concrete tile or slate is used.
Ø Can be installed directly to plywood sheathing, metal decking, or battens.
3. SELF-VENTILATING
Ø The tile design, which is a full 2-1/2-inches high and 9-inches wide, allows for constant airflow under the panels from eave to ridge.
Ø Our eave and ridge closures are designed with 9-nine ventilation holes in each closure for maximum airflow beneath the panel.
Ø Reduces heat buildup in attic area.
Ø Reduction in heating and air conditioning cost.
Ø No mold, fungus, or algae growth.
Ø No ice or snow buildup.
4. LIGHTWEIGHT
Ø Superior strength to weight ratio – 1.25 PSF
(vs. conventional tile at 13 lb/square foot).
Ø Panels are easily handled on the job-site.
Ø Reduces substructure and transportation expense.
Ø Reduces fire hazard weight.
5. STRENGTH OF STEEL
Ø Both our Galvanized Steel and Aluminum Tiles’ design offers tremendous strength in both horizontal and vertical directions.
Ø Screws are placed in the flat “low rib” increasing the contact area between the panel and the substrate. This contributes to greater uplift resistance.
Ø Excellent hail resistance and walk ability, the tile is designed with a 4-inch wide flat rib that makes a perfect area for foot traffic.
Ø Non-combustible – Class A, B, and C fire rated.
Ø Won’t curl or crack with weather conditions or age.
6. DURABILITY
Ø Excellent life cycle cost.
Ø Rated as a lifetime roof.
Ø Eliminates moss, fungus, and insect problems.
Ø Resists streaking and staining.
7. TESTING AND ACCEPTANCE
Ø Hurricane Test Laboratory preformed an Uplift Test per Underwriters’ Laboratory specification UL-580. The 24 Gauge Steel panel with a 16-inch tile step achieved -131 PSF when installed over 1/2-inch plywood sheathing with a field condition screw pattern. This application is intended for re-roof applications over existing 1/2-inch plywood construction.
Ø Hurricane Test Laboratory preformed an Uplift Test per Underwriters’ Laboratory specification UL-580. The 24 Gauge Steel panel with a 16-inch tile step achieved -213.5 PSF when installed over 1/2-inch plywood sheathing with a corner condition screw pattern.
Ø Hurricane Test Laboratory preformed an Uplift Test per Underwriters’ Laboratory specification UL-580. Our 24 Gauge Steel panel with a 12-inch tile step achieved -333.50 PSF when installed over 5/8-inch plywood sheathing with a field condition screw pattern. In addition, our 24 Gauge Steel panel with a 12-inch tile step acheived -408.50 PSF when installed over 5/8-inch plywood sheathing with a corner condition screw pattern. This application is intended for new construction in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone.
Ø PRI Asphalt Technologies preformed a Wind Driven Rain Test per TAS 100. The 10-foot x 10-foot test specimen included a valley assembly that withstood a 110 MPH wind driven rain for a period of 2 hours without any signs of water intrusion.
Ø Underwriter’s Laboratory UL790 Fire Rated for Class “A” with the incorporation of one layer of GAF’s “VersaShield – TGFU.R25407”.
Ø Miami-Dade County Approved NOA No. 21-0202.05 with a Maximum Design Pressure of -204.25 psf.
