In 2009, FMRP supplied their 24 Gauge Metal Tile Roofing System (Terra Cotta) for the private residence of Dominica’s Prime Minister, the Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit.
Dominica experienced Hurricane Irma on September 4, 2017 and took a direct hit from Hurricane Maria on September 18, 2017 as a Category 5 with winds of 160 MPH. The Primer Minister spent the night at one of his residences in the capitol of Roseau. That night he posted on Facebook “My roof is gone, I am at the complete mercy of the hurricane. House is flooding”.
The strength of our system is truly evident when facing the potential of tragic devastation. We are pleased to report that his primary residence remained uncompromised while only sustaining minimal damage due to flying debris.
